Carmel and Gerry Towey hosted a fundraising coffee day in their garden centre last Sunday. The popular Kilworth garden centre has a tradition of raising money for good causes and this time the chosen charity was Cork ARC Cancer Support House - a service that provides practical assistance to cancer sufferers and their families.
There was a great turnout with Carmel and Gerry's extensive circle of friends rallying behind the venture. The coffee and tea flowed all day with visitors also tucking into a delicious selection of confectionery. The raffle was well supported as was the bric-a-brac stall.
Carmel and Gerry are grateful to everyone who supported the fundraiser and also wish to acknowledge the many volunteers who helped out on the day. Thanks to the continuing support of the public, Cork ARC Cancer Support House is able to offer its services free of charge. It's contact number is 021-4276688.
