On Tuesday, May 5th, travel restrictions placed on individuals over 70 years of age were eased by the Irish Government.
It means that, after almost six weeks of being asked to stay inside and ‘cocoon,’ people like Tom and Kathleen O’Brien of Cullenagh, Fermoy, will be able to get outside a bit more.
Speaking to The Avondhu this week, Tom, now in his 92nd year, said that sticking to home hasn’t been too tough.
“We’re very used to it now at this stage. Maybe in the first couple of days it was tough because it was new, but we’re getting on fine now,” he remarked.
