The official opening of the Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services (CDYS) youth cafe and youth services takes place this Thursday, November 21st. It’ll run from 6pm to 8pm.

CDYS relocated to their new premises at Fitzgerald Place, Fermoy during the summer. Groups have been up and running since July with a range of activities organised for young people, including weekly drop in slots for them to hang out, play pool, and listen to music in a relaxed, safe and supervised environment. There’s also film making, drama and other activities offered. They also have an active music group which meets every Thursday from 5.30 to 7.30pm.

The launch promises to be a great night. The premises will be officially opened by Cork County Mayor, Noel O’Connor. There’ll be a display of talent from their music group on the night and a short film will be shown, which they made about relocating to the new premises and the history of CDYS.

The night is open to the Fermoy community and they are encouraging as many young people as possible to attend to see their new premises. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided. Further information is available from Martina Daly on 086 8031200.
