It is hoped that Cappoquin Library will be operational by the end of April, however, no commitments were made on the matter, as the library continues to face an extended closure ‘due to works’.
The library closed around 12 months ago for ‘essential repairs’ to deal with damage to the front of the building. However, its reopening has been plagued by a series of delays.
At a meeting of the Dungarvan Lismore District in February, it was revealed that additional works were uncovered, leading to the delay in reopening the facility. Querying the matter at Monday’s district meeting, Cllr Declan Doocey again raised the concerns of the public.
