“As there is no public wastewater infrastructure in Kilbehenny village, Uisce Éireann currently has no remit in the area,” assistant county engineer Liam Aherne has said.
News of this comes following an article recently published in The Avondhu in which the Kilbehenny Sewerage Active Group called for a solution to the issue of the sewerage system in Kilbehenny – and the lack of same.
Monday’s northern committee meeting saw Cllr Frank O’Flynn table a motion on the matter calling on Uisce Éireann and Cork County Council for an up-to-date report and possible timeframe on the sewerage treatment plant for the village.
