Fermoy artist and illustrator Celia Carlile, has produced her second children’s book called ‘The Christmas Song’. Published by Amazon.co.uk, it is a charming story about a little girl called Emily who is far too excited to sleep on Christmas Eve. But Santa only comes when children are asleep so, he has to wait outside for a time.
Celia’s first book ‘The Slimy Slug’ was written in collaboration with Wendy Hesketh a Scottish author. This time the collaborator is closer to home in the form of Celia’s husband Orison, who already has many academic publications to his name including books on learning and on creativity.
As part of the story, Santa writes and sings a song. The words and music are included in the book and Santa himself can be heard singing it on Celia’s website CeliaCarlile.com.
“I am very excited about this book and song” says Celia. “I read my first book for pupils in schools and they loved the Slimy Slug Song and sang along with it. I hope to have a special song composed for all my future books.”
Celia and Orison enjoyed writing together and, not content to rest on their laurels, are already working on another book.
