2-year-old, Emily Byrne from Knockanore has come through a lot. A small person who has been in and out of hospital since she was born on 12th June, 2017, Emily has proven herself to be determined, tenacious and tough.
She needed all these qualities to battle a rare liver condition which, threatened her life on more than one occasion.
Her own resourcefulness, a loving family, great neighbours and the goodwill of the public has ensured she’s come through.
There’s also the contribution of John Fenton, without whom, Emily’s transplant wouldn’t have been possible.
