Suggestions are now being made for ways to fill the market gap created by the closure of a local 30-bed nursing home.
Last week, Strawhall Nursing Home in Fermoy announced its decision to close as it was facing ‘significant challenges’ that it cannot overcome.
In a statement, the owners of the facility said: “It is a very sad day for us all at Strawhall Nursing Home as we announce the closure of our home, first established in 1988”, adding that it was ‘a very difficult decision for us and not taken lightly’.
