Ireland's best loved soprano Cara O’Sullivan, is to headline a gala concert in St Patrick's Church, Fermoy on Friday, February 13, the proceeds of which will benefit the Conference Fermoy of St Vincent de Paul.

Cara, who is in rehearsal for the forthcoming production of ‘Faust’ in Cork, will also be joined by Michael Tierney (tenor), the Cork Garda Male Voice Choir under musical director Marjorie Moran and the Wilcollane Singers under musical director, Anne Dunphy.

These are two very popular choirs as both musical directors are very well known nationally, and both they and their choirs have achieved very high accolades. This promises to be a wonderful evening as the programme includes a great variety of music including many songs, musical favourites and classical pieces. St Patrick’s Church has excellent acoustics for performances of this calibre and the town of Fermoy has enjoyed a very long and well established musical tradition.

The proceeds will go to bring much needed assistance to people who require help and support. The gala concert is also a collaborative community event and SVP is very grateful for all the help and hard work that many people share with SVP Fermoy in supporting this exciting event. There are many in our community who from time to time experience hardship for a variety of reasons so, by buying a ticket, you are supporting the very good work of St Vincent de Paul.

Tickets (€20) are now on sale at Hickey’s Fashions, Patrick Street and a wonderful performance is guaranteed. What a lovely night out for the feast of St Valentine and, by treating someone and yourself to a lovely experience, you will also spread a little love and fellowship to your neighbour or someone in our community who needs assistance and support. Information and tickets from 086-8206686 and 086-0601690.
