Blackwater Distillery set to brew up ‘The Spirit of West Waterford’

Cara O'Sullivan the very popular soprano, returns to Fermoy for a very special fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul on February 13. Having made her debut performance in Franz Lehar’s ‘The Merry Widow’ with Fermoy Choral Society back in the day, Cara says she is truly delighted to be back in Fermoy.
"’I’m so excited, as I really appreciated that opportunity with the choral society to perform in 'The Merry Widow'. I had stopped performing, and that musical in Fermoy when I sang and played Hanna Glawari, was my return to singing and opera," she enthused.
Cara reminisces about the beautiful dress she wore in that role as Hanna and points out that the dress was made by Joanie Hanley. Cara enjoys a very successful career as an opera singer around the globe. Some of her appearances include the Royal Albert Hall, The Cultural Concert Hall Singapore and the world renowned Sydney Opera House.
UPLIFTING
Fermoy will enjoy an uplifting night of music, songs and old time favourites in what will be a very high standard of performance at St Patrick’s Church, Fermoy on Friday February 13th at 8.00pm sharp. The church has excellent acoustics for performances of this calibre and it is only fitting that Cara O'Sullivan is back in Fermoy, a town that has a long and well established musical tradition.
Tickets are on sale at Hickey’s Fashions, Patrick Street and cost €20. This promises to be a lovely night out for the Feast of St Valentine and, by treating someone and yourself to a ticket, you are supporting others less fortunate who need assistance. Information and tickets from 086-8206686. Entrance ticket includes raffle for some lovely prizes, no raffle tickets sold during performance.
