Mitchelstown Gardai and Fire Brigade services were called to a housing estate in Mitchelstown on Hallowe’en night after a car was set on fire.

The incident at Ard Mhuilinn estate was reported at approximately 10.30pm by a member of the public after fumes from the vehicle engulfed the housing estate.

The owner of the vehicle said she was most annoyed over the fact that those concerned had put her friends and neighbours at risk by setting fire to the vehicle in a built-up area.

“It was definitely deliberate. That has been confirmed,” said the vehicle owner, Amanda Donegan.
