Fermoy's famous Knockananig Reservoir has again come under the spotlight, this time with a view to further improving the amenity there, not just for the benefit of the local community, but for the wider public as well.
During the discussion that followed at Tuesday’s Fermoy MD meeting, local authority engineer Brendan O'Gorman asked that it be put on record, his wish to see connecting footpaths from Duntahane all the way up to Knockananig.
Executive council staff in the Fermoy Municipal District have expressed interest in improving the amenity following a request by Cllr Noel McCarthy to consider putting in place a plan to upgrade the amenity and to promote it as a recreational area.
