Those living in Araglin are fortunate to have unrestricted access to a local community field, which is capable of hosting a variety of sporting, social and cultural activities.
Purchased with the assistance of then curate, Fr Finbarr Kelleher in the late 1960s, the 14 acres site, in the townland of Barnahown, Co Tipperary, is home to both Araglin GAA and Araglin Pony Club, as well as being the setting for the annual carnival.
In recent times, both aforementioned clubs have drawn up development plans – in the case of the GAA, a new entrance to the pitch and dugouts capable of accommodating visiting teams, in addition to expanding an existing training area.
