A group of fifteen Fermoy retailers are set for a very busy Autumn/Winter with thanks to a specifically designed Retail Programme funded and managed by the North Cork Enterprise Board (NCEB).
The programme, aimed at owner/managers of retail outlets in Fermoy town, was completed on Tuesday, 17th September in the Fermoy Community Youth Centre and hosted by the NCEB. The objective was to give retailers new tools to help them grow sales during these challenging times.
The programme entailed 4 days of training (1 day of training per month) as well as a store audit and visual merchandising audit. Ireland's leading retail consultant and advisor James Burke, delivered the training workshops and store audit while his colleague Celine Cummins, delivered the visual merchandising workshop and audit.
At the presentation of certificates on the final day of the programme, Michael Hanley, manager NCEB said: "Now more than ever it is important that local retailers explore new ways to bring a fresh approach to their business which will not only aid them in the long term success but also breathe new life into how they work together for the development of the town of Fermoy."
Those who took part included Nora Quane of Style Lounge, Jennifer Feeney (Fermoy Opticians, Noel McCarthy (Carry Out Off-Licence), Geraldine Hegarty (Hegarty Fabrics), Simon Barber (J J Barber Jewellers), Kathleen O'Keeffe (Berminghams Pharmacy), Susan Hickey (Hickey's Fashions), Michael Ennis (Avondhu Motor Factors), Goretti Fitzgerald (Jim Bermingham's), Mike Walsh (Walsh's Pharmacy), David Hickey (Hickey's Menswear), Paul O'Neill (O'Crualaoi's), Joy Browne (Vanilla Boutique), David Ryan (Davsea Ltd.) and Charlie Richards (PC Clinic Fermoy).
The programme was open to independent retailers (owner/managers only) trading in Fermoy town.
