Hopes are high that a record entry will take part in this year’s Rathcormac 4-Mile Road Race.

This is a joint venture between Bridevale Athletic Club and Rathcormac Ladies Football & Camogie Club that takes place on Thursday, August 22 at 7.30pm.

The event was formally launched on Tuesday, July 30 in Bride Rovers GAA field. There was an impressive turn out of representatives from both clubs along with sponsors and runners.

One of the those sponsors, Liam Barry, managing director of Fermoy Print & Design said the event was generating a lot of interest with the 4-mile distance appealing to a large cross section of runners.

“We are delighted with the level of sponsorship the race has attracted, it was great to see them all represented here this evening, we are spreading the word far and wide in anticipation of a really well attended and successful road run,” Liam told The Avondhu

For its part The Avondhu is a media partner for the race and will be promoting the event heavily in the weeks ahead.
