Schools such as Mitchelstown CBS and Presentation Secondary School, Mitchelstown have a long and distinguished association with the performing arts.

In more recent times, they’ve started to pool their resources to stage shows and last weekend’s ‘Sister Act’ was a wonderful advertisement for this joint venture.

Several months in the planning, this much anticipated show was a major undertaking with participants having several elaborate dance routines to master – on this score, Presentation students were front and centre. At face value, a religious musical may not seem the most engaging of theatrical offerings, however, this production delivered spectacularly.

Given the subject matter, black and white featured prominently but ‘Sister Act’ could never be accused of being dull and the stage and lighting was of a professional standard.
