Kilbehenny and surrounding area is coming to terms this evening – Thursday, July 30th – with news of the tragic death of an elderly male, following a farm accident.
It is understood the man, in his late 70s, suffered fatal injuries late this afternoon on a dairy farm when in contact with a gate.
The Avondhu reported last week that the region is identified as 'a blackspot' for farm related injuries and deaths, according to Pat Griffin, a senior inspector with the Health and Safety Authority – one of the country’s leading safety experts.
