BREAKING – Election update Dungarvan-Lismore & Fermoy

The first count in Dungarvan-Lismore sees Fine Gael’s Damien Geoghegan elected, securing 1,337 first preference votes.

In Waterford County – Dungarvan-Lismore area, Damien Geoghegan (FG) has taken the first of 8 seats to be filled. From an electorate of 22,774, turnout was 52% with a quota of 1,312 votes. From a total poll of 11,955, there were 148 spoiled votes, leaving a valid poll of 11,807.

Details of the first count are as follows: Damien Geoghegan (FG) – 1,337; Pat Nugent (FG) – 1,252; James Tobin (FF) – 1,171; Siobhan Whelan (SF) – 1,048; John Pratt (Lab) – 1,040; Tom Cronin (FF) – 920; Declan Doocey (FG) – 823; Seamus O’Donnell (Ind) – 704; Louise Brierley (SF) – 697; Nicky Sheehan (Lab) – 666; Micheal Cosgrove (FG) – 628; Midi de Paor Walsh (Ind) – 592; Ann Marie Rossiter (FF) – 537; Michel Wright (Ind) – 392.

Michel Wright (Ind) has been eliminated after the first count.

FERMOY AREA – UPDATE

Following Count 2 in the Fermoy area election, Fianna Fail’s Frank O’Flynn was been elected to take the third seat – three seats remaining to be decided.
