FERMOY AREA

Ian Doyle (FF – 2,731) and Kay Dawson (FG – 2,691) have both been elected on the 9th count, passing the quota of 2,506 votes, joining Noel McCarthy (Lab), Kevin O'Keeffe (FF) and Frank O'Flynn (FF).

WATERFORD

Following 4 counts in the Waterford County – Dungarvan-Lismore area, Fine Gael’s Pat Nugent has secured the second seat with 1,315 votes – the quota being 1,312 votes. Michel Wright (Ind) was eliminated on the first count, with 392 votes; Ann Marie Rossiter (FF) was eliminated on count 2 (566); while Midi de Paor Walsh was eliminated on count 4, with 649 votes.

TIPPERARY

In Tipperary – Clonmel, Martin Lonergan (Ind) was elected after the first count, with 1,748 votes – the quota being set at 1,567 votes. Following a 59% turnout, the total electorate was 26,765 – from a total poll of 15,844, there were 178 spoiled votes, leaving a valid poll of 15,666 votes.

Eoin O’Flaherty (Ind) was eliminated following the second count, on 93 votes. 8 seats remain to be filled.

LIMERICK

In Cappamore-Kilmallock area, from an electorate of 27,485, there was a 54% turnout, with 187 spoiled votes, leaving a valid poll of 14,772. The quota was set at 1,847 votes – all seats have now been filled. Brigid Teefy (Ind) topped the poll on 2,369 votes.

The following is the breakdown: Brigid Teefy (Ind) – 2,369; Eddie Ryan (FF) – 2,178; Lisa Marie Sheehy (SF) – 1,889; Noel Gleeson (FF) – 1,893; Michael Donegan (FF) – 1,825; Gerald Mitchell (FG) – 1,713; William O’Donnell (FG) – 1,669. Joseph Meagher (Ind) was eliminated on count 4 (1,139), Michael Houlihan (FG) on 1,208 was eliminated on count 5.
