First count from the Kanturk – Mallow area vote sees Independent John Paul O’Shea filling the first of 6 available seats, with a count of 4,374. Turnout is reported at 58% from an electorate of 37,129. Total poll was 21,604, of which 303 were spoiled, leaving a valid poll of 21,301. Quota is set at 3,044 votes.
