A several hundred strong crowd turned out for last Monday's open night at Blackwater Community School in Lismore.

As usual, there was a sophisticated plan in place to ensure everyone was looked after. The guided tours were conducted in an efficient manner with little in the way of delays despite the heavy footfall.

Both the members of staff and students gave insightful accounts of what Blackwater Community School has to offer in terms of academia and extra-curricular activities – activities that are made possible thanks to the fundraising efforts of the school's parents' association – these members were also on hand to assist with the open night.

While considerable time and attention goes into promoting sporting activity, Blackwater Community School also places considerable emphasis on music and the performing arts.
