In recent years Kildorrery Christmas Market group have enabled many people, native and visitor alike, source a range of gifts and necessities for the festive season at their by now annual and eagerly looked forward to event. This year’s market, to be held on Saturday week, 10th December, from 12noon to 5pm, is bigger and better than ever and not to be missed!
This year there will be over 40 stalls present, many attending for the first time, showcasing the veritable A-Z of products, services and accessories deemed essential for this time of giving and receiving in the spirit of Christmas.
Notable newcomers this year are the mini-companies from Presentation Secondary School, Mitchelstown with 4 stands, featuring their innovative products. Designer dog clothing should go down a treat with pet lovers. Kildorrery Scouts group will have a stand on home turf and your support will be very welcome for this new group. Books are very much back in vogue and two stands will feature a selection to choose from to satisfy the avid or seasonal reader, including Terri Heffernan from Fermoy.
Peadar Collins and his Irish Tree Centre have landscaped many areas in The Avondhu area and beyond and they’re ever willing to give back to the community. This year Peadar will be offering spiral trees for sale on the day, normally €150, they’re yours for €100 when purchased on the Saturday and what’s more €50 from each sale will be donated to the organisers fund. A very worthy and generous gesture, much appreciated by Kildorrery community.
Trish Curtin will be along with her elegant range of handbags, while local Pat Murphy and Steven Eldridge will be displaying their woodcraft. Baking, plants, knitwear, arts and crafts, preserves are just some of the other treats on offer on the day. Eibhlin Walsh-Boland will be there with her colourful floral displays and Christmas wreaths to add extra luster to Super Saturday in Kildorrery.
The man from the North Pole will be in attendance, but his appointments book is full up for the day! It all happens in the Creamery Yard, Kildorrery on Saturday week, 10th December from 12noon to 5pm. The best advice is get there early and tick off many of the Christmas wish list for family, friends and indeed yourself!
