BestDrive staff from Dublin have launched their fundraising initiative for BUMBLEance. 5 members of the BestDrive team in Dublin will be taking part in the Hanover marathon in Germany on the 14th of April in support of the charity BUMBLEance.
BUMBLEance and BestDrive have a long-standing relationship – BestDrive provides vital support to the BUMBLEance fleet and has invested hugely in BUMBLEance – servicing vehicles, providing tyres and investing in advertisement for BUMBLEance.
Sylvain Borré, Managing Director of Best Drive Ireland commented: “The relationship between BestDrive Ireland and BUMBLEance is something that is extremely important to all the team in BestDrive Ireland. As a charity partner, we try and support them as much as possible so when the opportunity arose for us to take part in the Hanover marathon it made perfect sense to use the platform to raise as much awareness and funds as we can for BUMBLEance. With a €1,000 target placed by the participants we at BestDrive will match this and add an additional €1,000.”

About BUMBLEance
Established in 2013, BUMBLEance had one vision: to provide transportation services for children affected by serious and life limiting conditions in a safe and comfortable environment free of charge. We provide safe and comfortable transportation for Ireland’s youngest patients as they travel between their homes and hospitals, hospices, treatment centres, and respite centres nationwide. Each BUMBLEance is designed to transport families often travelling from rural areas of Ireland to the main treatment and respite centres in Dublin. Each BUMBLEance is fitted out with state-of-the-art entertainment systems to ensure each journey is as enjoyable as possible, a place where children can just be children and parents/guardians don’t need to worry. At BUMBLEance the goal is to deliver smiles, where we ensure the service is totally free for our service users.
As an organisation we complete approximately 750,000km a year, equivalent to 19 trips around the equator. We service approximately 150 children per calendar month, majority of which are trips to and from hospital visits. We have seen an unfortunate rise in the need for our service in recent years and are committed to helping as many children and families as possible. Our most heart-breaking service is our ‘Angel Trip’ in which we bring a terminally ill child home one last time to say goodbye to family and friends before they pass. To our knowledge, we are the only organisation in Ireland to offer this very special service. For our children and their families, BUMBLEance maintains the values of Inclusivity, Respect and Kindness.
