Bergin to make her Olympic debut on Saturday

On Monday, July 22, Kildinan native and Fermoy Rowing Club member Alison Bergin, travelled to Paris with the Irish rowing squad as events for the 2024 Olympic Games are set to get underway at the weekend.

Heats for the Women’s Double Sculls will kick off at 11.00 on July 27 and will see the local rower make her Olympic debut alongside Zoe Hyde.

Speaking with The Avondhu this week from Cyprus, Alison’s father Shane said that he is ‘extremely proud’ and that it is ‘a very exciting time’ for the whole family.
