Bratislava-born Mitchelstown fighter Vladimir Belujsky produced another devastating performance at the Mexican border city of Tijuana last weekend to comfortably beat Julio Morojo in the middleweight division.
Following his stunning stoppage of Manny Bique in November, Belujsky again showed his ability to get the job done early, blasting his unbeaten opponent into submission after just 40 seconds.
Morojo, known for his pressure type style, came into the ring throwing a flurry of early punches, but a beautiful counter shot by Belujsky stunned the unbeaten Mexican and when Belujsky followed that up with another deadly accurate punch, the referee stepped in to end the fight.
“I only found out at the weigh-in the day before that I was fighting a guy who was 2-0, but I knew I had nothing to worry about because I had been training and sparring with Chris Eubank Jr, who’s a World champion and ranked number 1 in the world at my weight. I knew if I could do well in the ring with him, then I can do well with anybody,” Belujsky told The Avondhu.
