Teacher, Catherine Kenny, brought the curtain down on a long and successful career at an outdoor ceremony held in the grounds of Ballyduff National School last Friday.
Accompanying Catherine on her last day of official duties were husband, John, son, Sean and daughter, Triona; her other children, Derbhla and Eva are currently abroad.
In a gesture she greatly appreciated, Catherine had the honour of planting a rowan tree (mountain ash) to mark the occasion.
