Ballyduff has been dealt a blow with the demise of two local businesses.
The River Action restaurant closed recently. The restaurant was opened on the June bank holiday weekend this year by local woman Theresa Noonan, who took a one year lease on the premises.
The previous owners had operated the restaurant from 2000 to 2012. Theresa plans to continue with her successful catering business.
The second business, Ballyduff Hardware and Angling Centre, will close shortly. Owner John Landers has operated the business in the centre of the village for the past three years. This week he said it was regrettable but symptomatic of the times.
He is considering continuing with the fishing aspect of the business, operating from his home.
