Con Martin and his son Doc, From Ballindangan, are setting off on Friday on the adventure of a lifetime as they take part in the infamous Mongol Rally.
The 18,000 mile round-trip, which the duo have branded ‘Cork to Mongolia’, is a charity road rally across the continents, beginning in Prague and ending in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.
The true meaning of adventure lies at the heart of The Mongol Rally and the organisers recommend that you don’t plan a solid route, you don’t research too much about the places you will travel through and you try not to use maps where possible.
Doc and Con have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into the ‘no plan’ recommendation since they first decided to take on the once in a lifetime trip.
