Storm Ellen raged through Cork on Wednesday last and into the following day. High winds, along with a red weather warning, resulted in many roads being impassible.
The Glanworth to Ballindangan road was impassible for most of Thursday due to a fallen tree, while the N72 Fermoy to Tallow road was littered with fallen trees at various points throughout and had to close at Bryan’s Cross.
Multiple trees were also down in Bartlemy and there were also reports of a fallen tree resting on electricity wires in the Clondulane area.
Traffic lights on Oliver Plunkett Hill in Fermoy were also out of action for a short time on Thursday.
