Michael English fans were out in strength last Thursday evening to pay homage to a true star of the 'easy listening' circuit.
The much anticipated concert in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown attracted a near capacity crowd, all of whom were glowing in their praise of the Kildare native. The show, which co-incided with Valentine's Night celebrations, is the latest in a series of very popular live performances hosted by this popular hotel.
An individual with real talent and any amount of charisma, Michael English is also a very grounded young man who never neglects his army of devoted fans. He was typically generous with his time at last week's concert and didn't leave the venue until every autograph was signed. Speaking to The Avondhu after the show, he said the concert went really well.
"Reaction was very positive and the crowd were in really great form, I was looking forward to playing in Mitchelstown and I must say, I haven't been disappointed, it was great to meet so many fans after the show and have the chat, they're all really wonderful people" he said.
Michael's current artistic offering 'This Is Michael English' is doing exceptionally well and the man who counts Louis Walsh as a fan, has an extensive tour of Ireland and Britain lined up during 2013 - he plays the Bru Boru Theatre in Cashel on Saturday, 2nd March. His fan base also extends to the USA and Australia.
A song getting a lot of airplay at the moment is 'Someone Is Singing Our Song', undoubtedly popular, Michael hopes it will follow in the footsteps of his classic 'The Nearest To Perfect'. These are good times for Michael English - singer, entertainer and gentleman.
