Dairygold has announced the appointment of accomplished business-woman Annette Flynn, as an independent non-executive director to the Dairygold Co-Op Board.

A chartered certified accountant by profession, Ms Flynn, a native of Teergay near Macroom, is currently a non-executive director of ARYZTA AG and Grafton Group plc, having previously served terms in a similar board capacity with Irish Life and UDG Healthcare plc (formerly United Drug).

In her early career Annette worked with Kerry Group plc in a financial/commercial capacity in Ireland, the UK and the USA, culminating in her role as Kerry Group’s Corporate Controller in North America, before moving back to Ireland.

Since returning to Ireland in 1996 Annette has built her executive career with UDG Healthcare Plc (UDG) (€1.7bn turnover business), initially leading Group strategy, finance and technology functions and progressing to managing UDG businesses in the UK, continental Europe and the United States. She was appointed an Executive Board member of UDG in 2004, resigning from her executive role with the company in 2011, moving on to develop a portfolio of non-executive directorships.

Welcoming Ms Flynn to the Dairygold Board, Dairygold chairman Mr James Lynch said: “Annette brings first-hand experience of working in senior management and board positions with highly successful international growth businesses to her service on the Dairygold Board. She has proven herself accomplished in areas including finance, acquisitions, business integration, corporate governance and business expansion in a number of leading commercial businesses in diverse geographies.
