Anglesboro Community Council have gone into tractor mode as preparations are well under way for the third annual Christmas in the Galtees tractor run.

One of the organisers, Dan Gallahue said that with the level of interest so far, they expect this year's event on December 27 to be bigger and better than ever.

"Just when we all thought that everything was under control and we had our plans falling into place, we stumbled onto a tractor that needs a lot of TLC to ensure its chance of going on the very popular run. It will be all hands on deck to get our blue tractor up and running and we will be working around the clock to get to get it ready.

"With less than three weeks to go, we are appealing to all local tractor owners to join with us on December 27 to help make this year's target. We will hold our official launch night on Wednesday, December 12 and we expect a good crowd out to kick start this year's event," Dan told The Avondhu.

He added that a very scenic route has been chosen for the tractors by the Galtee foothills and people who come along will not be disappointed.

"We have chosen an even nicer run for all the cars and one lucky person will be in with a chance to win €100 as all drivers will be entered into a draw on the day.

Sign in is from 10.30am on Thursday 27 and the day will wind down in the local Galtee View Lounge.
