The ‘Irish Thunder Pipes And Drums’ band from the US will arrive in Clondulane on Thursday, 16th August and will parade through the village and play some tunes on the village green.

One local woman, Michelle Moloney, is a member of the band, travelling all the way from Swedesburg, Montgomery County.

Michelle was once an integral member of the Thomas Kent Pipe Band before travelling to live in America. To honour her involvement, the Thomas Kent Pipe Band will also be present in Clondulane on the day and will entertain thsoe present.

The Irish Thunder Pipes and Drums band, who have been in existence since 1993, are coming to Ireland to support the Philadelphia Rose, Katie Keenan, who will be competing in the Rose of Tralee Festival on the same weekend.

There are around 90 people travelling over from the States who are all connected with the band and they will all be stopping off in Clondulane for this historic occasion.

Michelle Moloney’s parents Mike and Mary live in the village and it will be a proud day for the whole family.

The band will parade up through Clondulane Village around 7.30pm and will be playing on the village green for around an hour.

There will be a barbecue and a bouncy castle on the green on the night and the atmosphere is due to be second to none.

All are welcome to come along and give the American visitors a true Irish welcome.
