A huge ‘thank you’ has been expressed this week who contributed towards the local effort to coordinate aid for those stricken by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Co-ordinating collections in both Kilworth and Mitchelstown, Kilworth’s Murat Terzi this week wished to extend thanks to all who came on board, assisting in boxing essential items for transport to the Turkish Embassy in Dublin. Approximately 310 boxes were packed, with primary focus on essential items, such as sleeping bags and blankets.

“Thank you to everyone who made the last few days a success. The response has been amazing and a huge well done to everyone. To anyone who donated, volunteered or helped in any way, thanks you,” Murat told The Avondhu.
