The North Cork emergency helicopter was called to assist a seriously injured man involved in a farm accident in Kilworth on Tuesday.

It is understood that the local man, who was working with farm machinery, suffered an injury while using a Power Take-Off (PTO) shaft device on Tuesday evening.

A National Ambulance Service paramedic ambulance was dispatched as well as an emergency medical doctor. They then called in the ICRR (Irish Community Rapid Response) Community Air Ambulance based near Mallow, who rushed to the scene and airlifted the man to hospital.
