While many of us have fond memories of exaggerating a symptom of some kind to get out of class, 12-year-old Adam Buckley-Bell has never missed a day from Knockadea National School since he started in 2010.

Remarkably Adam follows in the footsteps of his sister Mairead who achieved the same feat after she started in Knockadea NS in 1996.

School principal, Aileen O’Dwyer said Adam has been a pleasure to teach and described him as ‘a lovely hard working gentle boy’.

“He was the school Taoiseach this year representing the pupils whenever a visitor came to the school. A lot of credit must go to his family for this wonderful achievement.”

Adam is the son of Ann and Stephen and brother to John, Eamonn (RIP), Áine, Mairead, Gerard and Marie. His brother John started in Knockadea NS in 1990 and in 2010, Adam and his brother Gerard were the youngest and oldest students in the school.

Once Adam has enjoyed a well earned summer break, he will begin a new chapter in his school life in September by attending CBS Secondary Mitchelstown.

Well done to Adam, his family and all the staff at Knockadea NS from all at The Avondhu.
