Neglect, indifference, vandalism, history and Father Time – all have conspired to rob Mitchelstown and its catchment of historical buildings.

The loss of historical buildings goes some way to understanding the motivation of those who’ve mobilised to save St George’s Church in Mitchelstown.

While not in immediate danger, it’s reasonable to assume the future wasn’t bright for an unoccupied and unused building.
