By Christy Parker
The first book in over 55 years to trace the course and history of the Blackwater at first hand will be launched in Youghal next month.
Walking the Munster Blackwater by retired schoolteacher Jim O’Malley recounts the author’s seven day walk beside the river from its source in Co Kerry to its exit 104 meandering miles later at Youghal Harbour.
It succeeds the last such literary venture, Cois Móíre, by Annraoi Ó Liatháin (Harry Lions) in 1959.
