Funcheon Vintage Club is a vibrant voluntary organisation with a loyal membership. Their most recent tractor run took place on Sunday last and thanks to an early start they dodged the monsoon-like conditions that swept the southern part of the country on Sunday evening.

There was a good turn out and having registered in the grounds of the old creamery yard in Kildorrery, drivers were treated to some light refreshments. The entry fee was €20 with proceeds being divided between Kildorrery Community Development Ltd and The National Council For The Blind Of Ireland. Promoted as the Pat O'Connor/Bob Dwane memorial road run, the event remembers two stalwarts of the vintage scene.

As with all these kind of events, safety is paramount and the run was well stewarded from start to finish. Two of the main organisers were Martin Curtin and Les Harding, and they were delighted with how things went. They thanked everyone who participated as well as those who worked behind the scenes.
