Young entrepreneurs from Mitchelstown helped spread festive cheer by selling their products at the National Crafts & Design Fair in the RDS, Dublin recently.
Chloe Yelverton, Ava Murphy and Heather Coleman waere among the 125 young people invited to sell the products they created as part of a youth entrepreneurship programme, the Foróige Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship programme (NFTE) at the popular Christmas fair.
Chloe , Ava and Heather were given a seed grant in September to set up and run their own businesses and she has been working hard over the last few months to prepare her products for the event.
“I’ve had such a great day – it’s great to see the product I worked so hard to create being sold,” Chlow said. “It’s been brilliant experience to set up my own business – I’ve learnt so much.”
Keelin O’Donnell, Foróige NFTE Programme Officer, said: “These young people are a credit to themselves and to the community. Now more than ever, we need to give young people the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills and that is exactly what our entrepreneurship programme does.”
