Singer Keith Hanley from Charleville has been tipped by Boylesports as a hot favourite to be a winner for this year's The Voice of Ireland and his mother, Alice Hanley (nee Gallahue), who is originally from Anglesboro and later Ballylanders, is hoping that people will row in behind her son and support him if he gets through to the public vote rounds.

In a performance which had Bressie on the edge of his seat and Sharon Corr reduced to tears, Keith went head to head in a battle with Niamh Armstrong doing a stirring version of the hit song 'Beneath Your Beautiful' by Emile Sande and Labyrinth.

Before putting Keith through to the live shows, which will start this Sunday, March 17, his mentor Jamilia said that choosing between Niamh and Keith was one of the most difficult decisions she has had to make so far.

SUPPORT IMPORTANT

Keith's uncle, Dan Gallahue of Gallahue's Garage in Anglesboro, said that the family are all very proud of his progression through the competition and as the competition goes into the live rounds and inches closer to the final, every public vote will count. So Dan is hoping that people will get behind Keith to keep him in the competition, which could make his musical career.

Keith is studying Early Childhood Care and Special Needs in Mallow College of Further Education. He also works part-time in St Joseph's Foundation and does voluntary work teaching music and dancing at the Holy Family School in Charleville. Best of luck Keith.
