The very best of local talent was on show at last Sunday night's variety concert in Watergrasshill Community Centre. Organised by Watergrasshill Community Association, this event was a fundraiser for the association who are to the fore in promoting and encouraging a variety of social and cultural activity in Watergrasshill.
MC for the occasion was Mr. Paul Sharkey and he kept things moving along very smoothly. Some of the acts who entertained during the evening were: Sean O'Flynn, Sean Barrett, Julianna O'Callaghan, Ber Williams, Sean O'Keeffe, Glanmire Macra, Barry Curtin along with Scor competitors from Watergrasshill and Glanmire. John Arnold and Frances O'Riordan performed a comedy sketch, while students from the ELJ Academy of Dance starred in a fantastic routine. The Marron family, popular duo Colm and Eoin, along with other special guests all contributed to this wonderfully entertaining variety show.
STRONG SUPPORT
There was the customary raffle which helped boost the funds and the feedback from a good sized crowd was extremely positive. Like all such ventures a lot of work is required to ensure its success and in this regard members of Watergrasshill Community Association pulled out all the stops. The association are grateful to everyone who turned out to support the concert and hopefully it won't be too long before they do it all again. In the meantime, locals are encouraged to keep making the maximum use of Watergrasshill Community Centre.
