Fermoy local conquers Europe’s highest peak

Fermoy local, Radek Kawa, recently conquered Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams. 

On July 31, the Polish national reached the summit alongside two friends from his homeland, after a gruelling trek, having taken on Italy’s Gran Paradiso (prior to his French feat), thus climbing more than the height of Mount Everest within just five days. 

Following his trip through the Alps, Radek said he was recovering for almost a week, but is now glad to be home.
