A public meeting re the formation of the new text alert system as sanctioned by An Garda Siochana will take place in St Michael’s Hall, Ballyduff on Thursday, October 17 at 8pm.

John Hogan, president of Muintir na Tire will address the meeting and explain the requirements to establish this initiative which offers everybody the opportunity to play an active part in protecting our countryside and our neighbours and gives us the opportunity to reduce the effects of crime.

This system has been in operation in the West Waterford Garda Division on a pilot basis for the past two years and has achieved notable successes leading to a reduction in crime.

This meeting is organised by Ballyduff Upper Community Care and Ballyduff Upper Community Council. All are welcome.
