If you’re looking for a safe and fun place for the kids to burn off energy, no matter the weather, look no further than Happy Days Play Centre, located on the Ballyhooly Road at the edge of Fermoy.
This locally owned and recently refurbished indoor play facility is designed especially for babies, toddlers and children up to 12 years of age, with something for every stage of play and development.
Happy Days offers free parking, free entry for adults, full wheelchair accessibility, and convenient baby changing facilities. There’s no need to book for general play sessions. Just turn up and let the fun begin. Parents can relax with peace of mind while children explore, play, and make new friends in a safe, engaging setting.
Inclusive Play: Sensory Sessions, Weekly Role Play and Parent & Toddler Group
Happy Days is proud to offer ‘Senseability’ sensory sessions every second week. These are designed specifically for children with additional needs who may find standard play sessions overwhelming. Held in a quieter setting with dimmer lighting, calming music, and a 12-child limit, these pre-booked sessions create a welcoming and inclusive space for all children who benefit from a gentler sensory experience.
Adding extra magic each week, the centre also hosts rotating pop-up role play set-ups such as mini farms, cafés, vet surgeries and shops. These encourage imagination, social learning and creativity, and change regularly to keep things fresh and exciting.
For families with younger children, the Parent & Toddler Group runs every Thursday from 9.30am to 11.30am, at a discounted rate of €7.50 per family for children aged 3 and under.
Parties Made Easy
Planning a party? Let Happy Days take the stress out of it. The centre hosts birthday parties for children of all ages, with a range of flexible party packages to suit different needs and budgets. Parties typically include access to the decorated party area, playtime in the main play zone, a variety of food choices for kids and adults, and optional extras such as party bags. All you need to bring is the cake. Enquiries can be submitted easily through the Happy Days website.
Refuel with Barista Coffee, Snacks and Hot Food
Play sessions work up an appetite, so the onsite café has you covered. Happy Days proudly serves locally roasted Badger & Dodo Treehouse coffee, alongside hot meals and a range of sweet and savoury treats. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Locally Owned, Family-Driven
Happy Days is owned and operated by Dara Carey, a mum of three young children, who took over the centre seven months ago.
“As a parent, I know how important things like coffee quality, baby-changing access, cleanliness and safety are,” Dara said. “I’ve been in the situation where I’m out and about and realise I forgot nappies or wipes, which is why we’ve stocked our baby changing areas properly. We’ve worked hard to keep the centre clean and modern, fun for everyone, and as stress-free as possible for grown-ups. We’re lucky to have such a hardworking and friendly team behind us. We couldn’t do it without them.”
