O’Keeffe’s, The Market Stone Bar & Restaurant in Clogheen, is continuing to establish itself as an attractive location for social events and family gatherings. The bar opened in 2021, followed 12 months later by the restaurant.

The premises also includes The Stable (complete with bar) which is ideal for parties and fundraisers – it’s also a popular venue for dart competitions. Since it opened, The Market Stone has hosted a variety of functions, including race nights, quizzes, coffee mornings and very successful comedy gigs. 

FAMILY OWNED, FAMILY FRIENDLY & FAMILY PETS WELCOME

The Market Stone & Restaurant is owned by Mary and William O’Keeffe, who have invested considerably in the premises. They’re pleased with the progress they’ve made to date and look forward to further growing the business in the weeks, months and years ahead. Families are especially welcome, as are family pets. 

STAGS, HENS & DOGS

The south Tipperary venue is also popular with those visiting the area or on bus tours. It’s also a destination of choice for those arranging hen or stag parties. At the moment, they’ve a number of First Holy Communion bookings. For birthdays, anniversaries, the afters of weddings and summer barbecues, The Market Stone will cater for all your needs.

With dogs part and parcel of family life, the restaurant makes a special effort to look after these much loved animals. The message is that The Market Stone is a pet friendly zone. 

OUTSIDE CATERING, A SPECIALITY

If you can’t go to them, The Market Stone will come to you. Mary and her team specialise in outside catering and this is very much a growth area. 

GET YOUR DAY GOING WITH A TASTY BREAKFAST

Breakfast is taken seriously at The Market Stone, with the ‘full Irish’ coming in at a very competitive €12. For this, you are served: 2 sausages, 2 rashers, 2 eggs, black & white pudding, mushroom, diced potatoes and beans, all served with toast or brown soda bread, along with tea or coffee. 

Lighter options include, the mini breakfast, scrambled/poached eggs, waffles/pancakes – while a vegetarian option is also available (eggs, beans, mushrooms, diced potatoes and grilled tomatoes). 

TOP CLASS, LOCALLY SOURCED FOOD

Main courses at The Market Stone feature slow roasted beef and Yorkshire pudding, roast stuff chicken and ham, chicken curry, Fitzgerald beef burgers, pasta carbonara, meat ball ciabatta, steak sandwiches and chicken goujons – all served with a variety of vegetables, sides, sauces, dips and relishes. 

YOU CAN’T FORGET THE KIDS

A delicious selection of bangers and mash, garlic bread, chips, sweet chili chicken and goujons should keep the younger ones happy. Desserts include: waffles, crepes, Nutella, chocolate brownies, milk shakes and ice cream. 

RESTAURANT OPEN THURSDAY TO SUNDAY

The Market Stone Restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday. Thursdays (12.30pm to 5.15pm); Fridays (12.30pm to 7.15pm); Saturdays (12.30pm to 7.45pm) and Sundays (10am to 6.45pm). The bar is open from 12.30pm.
