The choir from Loreto secondary school in Fermoy is taking part again this year in the All Island School Choir competition.

The 40-strong choir comprising students from 2nd to 6th year has some 15 new members this year, replacing those students who have left. The choir will compete in the Munster Regional Final this Friday, October 25 at the Cork School of Music.

Last year they got to the final which was televised live from the Titanic Centre in Belfast. The programme will be broadcast this year on RTE television on Sunday, November 17th. It's the fifth year of the competition for second-level schools, organised by Co-operation Ireland in association with RTE.
