There will be a strong festive feel to an important fundraiser that's coming up in Castlelyons Community Centre on Friday, November 8.

Those behind the venture - Castlelyons Home and Garden Club - are busy preparing for the event which will have 'flowers' and 'food' as its main themes. The floral side of things will be presented by special guest Ina McCarthy while Catherine Hickey will be on hand with the best in culinary advice.

Going on their excellent track record, organisers, are hopeful that the necessary support will be forthcoming and that vital funds will be raised for Marymount Hospice and Cork ARC Cancer Support House - two exceptionally good causes. Everyone is familiar with the outstanding service provided by Marymount, or Marymount University Hospice, as it's now officially known and likewise with ARC (aftercare, research & counselling) who are a tower of strength to individuals and families who must confront the challenges of cancer.

Tickets for the fundraiser are just €10 and the evening also incorporates a cheese/wine reception in addition to a raffle and refreshments.
