The Mitchelstown Community First Responders Group have been justly recognised at this year’s Mayor’s Community Awards, as they were announced as the group winners in the Northern Division category at the annual recognition ceremony.
The awards took place on Tuesday in Cork County Hall, where the Mitchelstown group were announced as group winners of the northern part of the county alongside the Board of the Schoolyard Theatre in Charleville; meanwhile, Mallow’s John Casey was chosen as the winner of the Individual award.
Other nominees in the Northern Division were the Blackwater Sub Aqua Search and Recovery Unit from Fermoy, Glanworth GAA Club and the Rathcormac Men’s Shed.
