Families in limbo re school places

Families in Fermoy and surrounds are ‘in limbo’ once again as several are on waiting lists or without places for their children in local secondary schools, a situation that's 'just a repeated cycle' year on year, according to one public representative.

Rathcormac councillor, William O’Leary, in stating that the issue is one that arises year on year, noted that it normally gets rectified around summertime. However many families are put under stress and anxiety in the interim, until finally, their child's school place is confirmed.

Cllr O’Leary last week issued a letter to Minister for Education and Skills, Helen McEntee TD, calling for the issue to be finally resolved.
